HUCKNALL TOWN RESERVES 4 BRIDGFORD UNITED 2
A very short report about last nights match at Watnall Road, where the visitors Bridgford United shot in to a two goal lead in the first six minutes, with a near carbon copy move, down the right hand side, firstly on 2 minutes, the home keeper palmed out a low shot for TONY WILSON to following and shot home, then in the 6th minute, again the keeper got a glove to palm the ball out and it fell to JOHNNY GREAVES to pump in to a empty net.
Hucknall looked stumped at the time, as I watched with local hopper Wayne Morrison and ref assessor and ex football league referee Dave Plowright, but further down the stand was a couple who jumped out their seats as their lad SAM BULGIN reduced the arrears in the 27th minute. This was the spur that the homesters required and gave them confidence and on 37 minutes the game was level when JORDYN SMITH made it 2-2 for a great entertaining first half.
The Second Half began with Town on the attack and veteran striker EUGINE FRANCIS cut in from the left wing and curled the ball from 25 yards at a angle in to the corner of the net to give his side the lead.
Bridgford pressed forward in search of a equaliser but this left holes at the back and they were caught out in the 55th minute when it became 4-2 to the yellows through MATTHEW BRIAN.
The game then went through a very sloppy period as Hucknall tried to close the game out and |Bridgford tried to hustle and bustle and towards the end there were a few bits of handbags but nothing too serious for the young Referee Jude Brough to deal with, who I felt had a very good match for a 17 year old and you could see why he was given Young Referee of the year by the Notts FA last season.
So now the Charity Blog rolls on down in to Cornwall for the next few matches, hopefully in sunshine.
