  SAMBA NOTTINGHAMSHIRE SENIOR LEAGUE WEEKEND REVIEW 19TH DEC 2020


Twas the Saturday before Christmas and points were there to be won and lost in a busy Saturday afternoon in the Nottinghamshire Senior League across all Divisions. In the Premier Division, Bingham Town FC took their 100% record to Wollaton FC and returned home with the points with a narrow 1-0 victory with a Tom Spencer 20 yard bullet of a goal. Woodthorpe Park Rangers left it quite late in a close encounter winning 3-2 over seventh placed Southwell City. Rangers opened the scoring through Adam Limb before City go it back to 1-1 through a own goal. In the Second Half, Connor Parkin made it 2-1 before Brad McDonald levelled things up before Connor Parkin scored the vital goal on 84 minutes. Stapleford Town are in fifth place after a 3-2 win away at FC Cavaliers, Towns scorers came through Ross McParland scoring twice and a Sam Harbottle goal, FC Cavaliers replies came through Andrew Danylyszyn and Blessing Adeleye. Ilkeston Town U23's won on the road 3-2 away at Cotgrave FC, the home sides scorers were Lee Potts on his debut and Ben Gathercole. Aslockton & Orston also won on their travels away at Magdala Amatuers, the visitors ran in to a to goal lead with goals through Chris Aldred and Pierce Hallam but Magdala's Jordan Leemings effort wasnt enough to take a share of the points. Over at the Poplars, Burton Joyce and Keyworth United played out a 0-0 draw.

In Division One, league leaders FC Sez were held at home to a 2-2 draw by Gedling Southbank, FC's scorer of their two goals was Cameron Thurgood, whilst Southbank also had a scorer who bagged two goals in Gianfranco Ciaurro. Second Placed Ruddington Village closed the gap to five points after 3-1 home win against Radford Reserves, the Villagers goals through Dan Neary, Ross Cochrane-Smith and Arron Ramsay, with Dillion Azizi scoring for Radford. A good win for United Grays kept them in 3rd place when beating Hucknall Town Reserves 4-2, A Letisser chip gave them a 1-0 lead in to half time before Blaise Duruaku penalty made it even, but within 4 minutes, Grays had shot in to a 3-1 lead with goals from Luke Jordan and Josh Wilson, before Blaise Duruaku scored his second from the spot, but Josh Gardner completed the scoring. Radcliffe Olympic are in fourth with a home 3-0 win against bottom of the table Kirton Brickworks, goals coming from Ethan Hunter, Liam Morris and Miki Moussa. Southwell City Reserves won 3-2 at home against Meden Vale Colts, City's scorers were Phil Peters, Rob Brown and Louis Annable, with both Vales goals coming from George Camps. Beeston FC leapfrogged Wollaton Reserves in to 11th place after beating them 4-2 ay Leyton Crescent, Beeston's goals coming from Joe Quilliam, Lee Fowler, Jack Wilkinson and Brian Bubi, Wollaton's reply coming from Adam Wright and Luke Davies. 

In Division Two North, FC Georgie extended their lead at the top to five points after winning a ten goal thriller in a 6-4 win over Pythian Reserves, Troy Smith and Franklin Fitzmaurice leading the scoring with two goals a piece, with Barry Payne and Chris Jackson weighing in with one a piece. Pythian's four goals coming through Donell Kyermeh, Rikki Robinson, Tobias Richardson and Zeke Jenkins. Fourth v Second, Quarrydale United v Ravenshead Reds ended in a 2-2 draw, the Dales goals came from Jason Yates and Blake Vincent, whilst the Reds scored through Ash Martin and Nicolas Hines. United Grays had a good day with their Community side also winning when beating Beeston Development 5-2. Grays scorers were Baba Cham, Ashley Foster, John Manders, Tremere Lindo and Rob England, with the Developments goals both being scored by Luke Ward. Bilborough Town Development narrowly beat Arnold Town Reserves 3-2 with Will Unglass-Brookes, Luke McKeag and Robert Makamu, Arnold's scorers were Brad Chilton and Richard Hatton.

In Division Two South, we have new league leaders with Pythian FC after their home 5-0 victory over Cotgrave Reserves, Pythians scorers were Jake Kane with 2 and one a piece through Jourdan Blair, Michael Lindsay, Dominic Furniss. Second placed Keyworth United Reserves had a comfortable 8-0 away win at bottom of the table Aslockton & Orston Reserves. United's Sam Wood lead the way with four goals, Conor Pauley with two and one a piece for Tom Siswick and Lamar Grifiths. Bingham Town Reserves suffered a 4-3 home defeat at the hands of AC United, despite a hat trick from Jake Boyes, United's goals came from Daniel Asuenimhem, Justin Topps and Harry Vennell. Burton Joyce Reserves had a good 3-2 away win at Elston United, Joyces goals came through Sam Freeman, Richard Wynder and Mitch Thompson, United's goals came from Jake Leadbetter and Joesph Hornigold. Rushcliffe FC went down to a 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Ruddington Village Reserves, Rushcliffe scorer was Jack Melbourne, but Luke Foster scored a brace for the Villagers.

The Foundation Division saw Netherfield Seniors make it 9 wins out of nine when winning 2-1 at home against Rainworth Seniors, Callum Cocks and Liam Mclhone securing the points for Netherfield whilst Rainworth's goal came from Andreas Kokkinou. Carlton Town Reserves remain in second place after a 3-0 home win v Wollaton III. Town's scorers were Josh Brown, Kev Williams and Ethan Stanley. In third place are South Notts AFC with a narrow 3-2 win over Stapleford Town Development. AFC's scorers were Remel White with two and Olaf Milewicz, with the Developments goals coming from Bradley Thompson and own goal. Sutton Travellers moved up to 8th after a 1-0 win against AFC Vernon through a David Fisher goal.
