COLTS TROT TO FRIENDLY WIN

 Pre Season Friendly

MEDEN VALE COLTS FC 4 FC BULL FARM 0

A pre season friendly where last seasons Robin Hood Colts FC in the NSL uplifted their adult team and moved to Meden Vale to become Meden Vale Colts FC and they hosts NSL newcomers AFC Bull Farm, a team who when a Sunday side some years ago, I was manager of for a short term but to be fair to the club, I just couldnt get in to Sunday football.

On arrival, I was shot by the temperature gun and was soon relaxing with a cuppa from the tea bar that opens every match and also serves Pastys and sausage rolls as well as chocolates and bags of sweets.

The match referee was JAMIE AULD who I have known for a number of years, when he was Bilsthorpe CW's manager and is well known for having the longest shorts Ive ever seen a referee wear. It was good to have a pre match chat to him and he kindly donated £5 to the Blogs Charity, so a BIG thankyou to him.

The game kicked off and both teams were carving out chances before the Colts took the lead in the 15th minute, when JAKE CRUNKHORN cut in from the right and shot home. Bull Farm pushed forward and the home keeper was forced in to a save and from playing from the back, the homester sprung another attack and after 17 minutes had doubled their lead when STUART GRAINGER made it 2-0.

To the Farms credit, they continued to play their game and had their chances, whilst the Colts were missing them at the other end, if it had been 5-5 at half time, I dont think anyone would have complained unless you'd have been a poor defender.

Bull Farm with no subs had to rely on the players on the pitch that they had, whilst the Vale had a few subs to make with fresh legs so the difference was there to see at times and on then hour WILLIAM COX ran through to get on the scoresheet to increase his sides lead.

Bull Farm's day was summed up in one move on 65 minutes, when a home defender sliced his clearence that dipped over his keepers head to smash the crossbar. 3 minutes later new signing RIKIN SUCHAK weaved his way in to the area before clipping the ball in to the net to make it 4-0.

With rain lashing down throughout the game, both sides gave the spectators a good game to watch and in pre season it is about match time and fitness ready for the seasons kick off rather than the result and Im sure both these sides will do well this coming season.

After the match, both WILLIAM COX and RIKIN SUCHAK both kindly chipped in £4 for the blogs charity, which is for NOTTINGHAM STROKE CLUB, so with JAMIE AULD's donation and the 4 goals scored that took the running total to a superb £978.50p
